I'm pretty sure that every human being on this planet loves to sleep? Am I right or am I right? Regardless, here are some ways to help you reach that slumber!
Reading
I love to read before I go to sleep. Frankly, most times, it is the only time in the day where I have time to read. I'm pretty sure that many of us with busy schedules can relate. Pleasure reading of books is ideal rather than any work-related materials. When you start to read the same sentence over and over because it’s not sinking in, it’s probably time to turn out the lights and go to sleep.
2. Try some gentle yoga poses before bedtime
According to a survey by The National Center for Complementary and Integrative Health, more than 85% of those who practiced yoga reported reduced stress and 55% reported better sleep. Yoga also allows for you to stretch your muscles and get rid of all the tensions that has been built up in your body throughout the day. A perfect way to relax and get comfortable!
3. Bathe before bedtime
Taking a warm bath or shower an hour or two before bed has been shown to relax both the body and mind, in one study lowering both heart rate and blood pressure. Heat relaxes tense, tired muscles, and helps you de-stress. It also feels like you're washing away all the stress and issues of your day, ready to have a good rest and start tomorrow anew.
Hopefully these tips were a bit helpful! In times of stress in our lives, especially now, taking care of ourselves is something that is highly important in being able to go on. Hopefully you guys have all been doing well and staying happy! In the comments below, tell me one thing that you must do every night before you go to bed!
